I see you have not met my dealer...
JK.. Sunrise is pretty good.. Even if I did have to try to make them rebuild the front end of my truck correctly rather than just say "oh well, close enough" after a deer hit.. And then of course I rather than get an invite from them to a Hummer Happening I had to hear about it through a local Jeep Club website and then go ask if I'd been blacklisted...

You shouldn't be, but in time you learn you have to be...
For instance the time I asked about Rock Rails for the H3 and I was told they didn't make them.. Or the time I bought the UCP and was told they don't come with directions or any other nuts and bolts, because you just reuse the ones already on the truck.. Or how about when I pulled into the service bay with 35" BFG MTs and they told me those tires won't fit on an H3..

Crash, you're experience with the dealership sounds familiar! I called my dealership about the rear wiper and jack recall...and the guy told me there were no recalls on the H3. Duh! Then when I got the car in there, he asked me where I got my brush guard. (I bought it from a different Hummer dealership when his dealership couldn't/wouldn't match the price) Genuine OEM....and this service manager insisted it wasn't OEM and went on to say, "Hummer's brush guard isn't as sturdy as that." WTF?? And this guy works for Hummer?!?!?
Anyway rob85635 - the point is, shop around for stuff and be informed! The people on this board can offer loads of information.
Congrats on your 3!

Re: Comments on Rock Rails / step up
Just to let everyone know, the rear wiper washer pump has expired as of December 31, 2006. So, if you haven't been to the dealer yet, they may not replace it. Then again, the reason it expired is if the pump has not failed by now, chances are it will not fail earlier than normal.

Re: Comments on Rock Rails / step up
OK, just to clarify for my own sake, the Teaka Toys Rock rails (in the link above) are like the GMs, but they are in addition to the GM rock rails. Right? Need GMs first, and then these bolt on and give you more protection, as well as, what looks like, a step.
Where the GMs have removable steps, TeakaToys are a "permanent" step, just part of the rocker protection. Have I got that right?
(Love the truck beebs)

Re: Comments on Rock Rails / step up
Totally disagree that the steps are ghey. I have them on my truck and they're great. Perfect for smaller people and kids. I know that probably isn't important to some people - but I think they're very functional and they look a lot better than the tube steps (IMHO). If you want to see them actually on a H3 you can check out my public profile here on the forum. I have a picture posted.
They aren't very functional if you're going to do a lot of off roading. They hang down pretty low.

ChiHummer3, thanks for the advice. I went and looked at your forum picture but your H3 has the one piece runner. The one I am looking at is a two piece set for each side. Do you have both kinds?

You are correct - mine are one solid piece on each side. I prefer the look of the of the full rail, plus it's easier for us when we load our kayaks on the roof racks - it's just extra stepping area to use. I'm sure the 2 piece (for each side) will work just as well.
It comes down to which look you like better. They are very functional though (unless you're going off road - then they'll need to come off). I've got two small kids that can get in and out of the truck easily with these rails.

Re: Comments on Rock Rails / step up
Back to the post's original topic...those teaka toys "steps"... are they rock rails? i.e. do they protect and are not meant to be removed when off roading?
