Well. some of you may know that i tried the Rancho lift and had issues. Looking back, it may have been due to the rim set up and the way the front end was aligned/ tire/ rim set up and t bars. I had the 9000's but really couldn't tell due to the way it was set up.

After going through a bunch of bs, and posted my experience, Rancho got wind of this. I was able to talk with one of theie fine people after they posted here. they stepped up and tried to answer as many questions as possible. They even offered to resintall the lift at their facility at no charge. they are convinced my issues were due to the install and tire/ rim setup.

So, something showed up on my doorstep today. they sent me some 90000's. I installed them in about 2 hours with simple handle tools.

HUGE difference in ride quality. Way better than stock. ...not that stock was bad. Even with the 35's, the rig soakes up the large bumps like nothing and the smaller ones have gone away almost alltogether.

So for those that are thinking of upgrading to the 9000's at atock height, I can say don't hesitate. GREAT RIDE!

Thanks Rancho.

i read all your posts on the rancho lift and was considering waiting for the rough country to come out, but in the end i went with the rancho kit as well as a wheel/tire combo.
i have not expirienced any of the problems you had with your kit, handles great off road and on. and yes the 9000's are a great shock....
here's a recent pic

WTH? That was my truck! Same rims too.

Ok, so I need some info/ feedback please. You said you didn't have the issues I did. GREAT!!!! Two people that have had good luck with the kit.

Can you please check the clearance between that steering knuckle and your tire. What are the specs on your rims? Offset/ backspace?

couple more q's:
How does it handle? HWY and around town?
Are your bumpstops touching in the front like they were when stock?

Thanks for the input. Any plans on offroading it?

for what its worth, i would like the shocks a lot more if they were dual adjustable. rebound and damping. as they are theyre decent, but u could tweak ur ride better with more control with a more sophisticated system.

It's nice to see Rancho, and Fabtech, step up to the plate for their customers.

FWIW, we had the 9000's on our old H2 and loved them.

ok... thats just plain sick!

can you tell me what the specs are on those wheels and tires?! who makes the wheel, size, and tire info.

I was perfectly happy with just upgrading my tires and you had to post this. Now I'm interested in getting a wheel/tire setup!

thanks!

one question on those side steps. Are those the quick release steps for when you go wheelin?

I'm thinking of picking up a step. I do need the rocker panel though... correct?

Each side step is secured by two bolts to the rocker bars (which are required). It takes me about 5 mins to get all four of my steps off to go wheeling.

timgco, quick question for you, what stock number is listed for the 90000s shocks you installed? I am trying to order them, and the dumb-ass at Rancho tells me there is no application for the H3 w/out the lift, which I know is horse-****. Anyway, I know you put them on w/out a lift, and was wondering if you could pass on the part number to me. Thanks!!!
