I've looked at the install pdf for the H2 Gobi roof racks and it's hard to tell - but do you need the crossbows to mount the rack or can you mount it without them?

Lobo,

First, the H3 Roof Racks from GOBI should be released very shortly.

The H2 racks mount to the rails where the crossbars mount. The rack itself does NOT mount to the cross bars. There are two brackets to choose from for a standard H2 rack: 2" and 4 1/4".

With the 2" brackets it is necessary to remove the crossbars, alternatively with the 4 1/4" brackets the crossbars can be left in place. The strength of the rack is not compromised by removing the crossbars - it is merely a personal preference.

Hope that helps.

Regards,
Jason
