So for the last few months (or what feels like a few months) I have been trying to sell my truck. I was really looking forward to unloading it, then friday came around. Friday was the day that I would no longer be an owner. I drove it down to the new owner in Memphis and dropped it off late that night. I was stoked to finally have gotten it over with, but when I got back to the hotel room it hit me, I no longer owned a HUMMER. Man what a crappy feeling. Now I cant crush cars, never get stuck in the snow, and get crap from tree huggers. I thought this would all be pretty painless, now I realize what a part of my life my HUMMER was, and the void its absense has left. Let me tell you guys, being HUMMER-less is no way to be. Hold on to those rigs. There is one bright side though, tomarrow I will have a new toy, something to take my HUMMER's place.

Nothing much could fill that void....that is, unless it's another HUMMER!

I hear you. Since getting my Hummer in February I've become so addicted to it that my wife threatens to send me to rehab at the Henry Ford Clinic.

My wife took the hummer to spokane today. When she got back, I was sent to run an errand. Forgot the errand, but loved driving the hummer

Oh, I'm not going to tell you guys what the new toy is. I'll post a pic of it sometime tomarrow. I dont think that some of you will like it though, I may be called a traitor for this one. But thats allright, I like it and thats really all I care about. As far as the GF pics go, I ASSURE there will be more to come. Afterall, the new toy is the perfect excuse for another "photoshoot".

Its amazing how you get so caught up in the enjoyment of driving the beast isnt it. I cant tell you how many times I went to get a pack of cigarettes at three in the morning and decided to take the long way home. And then when I finally got back to my road, I'd just drive right past and keep going until I felt like going home. Or all those nights of heavy snow. I'd be out playing until four or five in the morning every damn time. I loved breaking in unplowed roads, or driving by cars that head gone head first into a ditch and left there for the night, sucks to be them. Damn. I wish I could go do that right now.

I feel your pain... I originally bought my 03 H2, felt like I was trying to over compensate someplace and figured who needs to have a hummer and tried doing the 'right thing' by getting rid of it for a more practical vehicle. I traded it in and two weeks later drove back up (to Anchorage from Juneau (Alaska)) to buy it back.
I must say that it wasn't all about 'not needing it'. I was also pissed that GM charged an extra $1k surcharge for and extended warranty, just because they can. Not to mention, other parts...
Now, I'm down here in Novato, CA - the price of gas is near $3 per gallon and on top of that, I lose money (in the military; no COLA state-side)... so once again, I figure that I should do something 'for the family' after all who needs a hummer?
I traded it in (again) and bought a car outright, no monthly payments, etc...
But the 'feeling' is gone. No more pissing off the hippies, no more looks from people. While I admit I didn't always like getting looked at, I did enjoy "not being the environments bit&h".
I keep wondering if my H2 is still at the dealer and wondering if the third time (buying it back) is really the charm.
v/r,
David

Before I post the pics here's the story. A few months ago I began to contemplate selling my truck, that truck was never very good to me, I was sick of the soft top noise, I didnt really like the color, and I now do a lot of driving in the city, which can be a bitch with a HUMMER. I thought about some other options, a BMW M3, and Acura NSX, of course finally getting a Ferrari, a diesel pickup, but I really wasnt sure. Then out of the blew the PERFECT vehicle came along, I knew right away that it was the right choice.
