For those who have installed a CB w/ antenna, where did you mount them? I was thinking about going with the all-in-one mic made by Cobra. Nothing showing or taking up room except the cord and mic. For the antenna, I am thinking 4' black fiberglass whip mounted on the right rear bumper. Any suggestions? Thanks.

I also have the Cobra. I really like it. I have dual 4ft fiberglass antennas mounted on my rear bumper just like you were asking about. They really flopped around allot so I had to brace them to my tail light guards. (pictures below)
Inside the bumper is a thick metal plate that will need a very big hole drilled through it to run the antenna cable. It is allot of work but I think the outcome is well worth it.
Regards,
Jerry

Phil & YellowH2:
You both did clean installs. I'll be taking a few notes from your pages and going to work. I'm still shopping for a base unit, but I've used a Cobra in the past with good results.

I too have the same install as Phil. It works great even with the antenna folded down. Everybody who sees the Cobra75 mounted like in Phil's pic thinks its OEM.

Thanks for all of the feedback. I really like the roof rack mount idea. PhilD's and others have very clean installations. I had wanted the bumper mount similar to YellowH2, but, I would not be able to clear the garage. I only have a quarter inch clearance as it is now. I will refer to the past post as guidance.

For PhilD and those with roof mount antennas... how did you run the wires from the antenna into your truck and get them to the CB unit ??? Did you bring them in through the opening in one of the roof lights, the opening where you can run the wires for the roof lights ?

YOU REMOVE THE FRONT LEFT RUNNING LIGHT, IT HAS A RUBBER GASKET THAT YOU CAN RUN YOUR COAX THROUGH. FISH IT THROUGH THE FRONT PILLAR INSIDE AND IT WILL END UP UNDER YOUR DASH. FOR ENTIRE INSTALL INSTRUCTIONS SEE GLENN'S POST ON JAN 29,2003
