What do you say when people tell you "Its just a Tahoe." I love this dumb ass comment. I have been told this many times and I learn to just laugh. What about you....whats your reply?

A fool has no delight in understanding, but in expressing his own opinion.
In other words why waste your breath telling them anything.

Well...I stole this line from my buddy Craig T....but I like to bolt back at them with a bit of attitude: "No, it's NOT a Tahoe....it's a Yukon!!!!!"
My responses vary...depends on who's talking and what they are trying to achieve in asking that kind of question.
If they are serious and non-offensively inquiring, I usually start listing off all the differences. You know, confuse them with facts.
If they are being wise-asses, I generally give them the above mentioned Yukon line...but then follow it up with something about "If you think the H2 is just a dressed-up Tahoe, you'd probably also figure Albert Einstein is just a dressed-up monkey who could stand erect and talk".
Or I tell them about my buddy who has both an H2 and a Tahoe and finds them dramatically different.
Oh yeah...another one is..."there are two kinds of people in this world, those who can afford and have H2's...and those who can't and desperately need to find a way to knock what they can't have. Seems you've got yourself a good excuse!"'
Who knows...saying something like that to me is like spinning a huge wheel of sarcasm...you never know what kind of crap is bound to come flyin' back at ya...
Last time I checked, my ass was BAD.

Wait....so a monkey invented electricity??? If he invented electricity AND could talk, why did he suck so much at math?
I dunno what to say to those people really, but like it says above, it varies. If they're being a jackass, I usually laugh and ask them if my H2 is the first one they've ever been up close to, followed by an "alright, so be quiet." If they don't really know anything about the truck or are questioning nicely or whatever, I too will try to explain a few things. Doesn't bother me all too much, after all it's my truck, I like it and I'm happy, and I know the facts. Plain and simple.

Grim,
Soooo you think Einstein invented electricity and wasn't so hot at math? Hmmm, interesting. So what you're saying is that nobody knew why the light bulbs & everything else that's electrical worked until Einstein figured it out?
And I was wondering where you'd been off to. I'd wager a guess that it wasn't school, now was it?

A lot of strangers and friends have talked to me about my Hummer, no one ever said it is a Tahoe inside or whatever or suggested as such. Nor has any one said anything negative about my Hummer to me or to anyone else I know, none about anti-SUV, ELF, environmental or whatever. All the comments have been positive and appreciative, often to the extreme.

Mac,
Have you ever even left your driveway in the H2, or do you just drive around with blinders on? Since you're down in the Bay area (way too close to Planet Berkeley) I can't believe some whack-job hasn't made some obscene gesture or comment about your H2.

Frankly, never ever seen anyone making funny faces or unpleasant gesture at my Hummer in the last 17,000 miles and 12 months, that is a lot of driving, Tahoe, Sacramento, San Diego, LA, Newport Beach, Berkeley, Oakland, Stanford, Santa Cruz, San Jose, all over the places.
I cannot say the same about driving a big Cadillac, a big Mercedes or even a open top SL, people screamed out of their car or truck windows at a big Mercedes for some reasons, but I passed them so fast I didn't have time to hear what were said nor did I care what they had to say. All they got was a blank one second glance from me.

Silly forum....MAC is like a ray of pure sunshine...to which no shadow or cloud could be cast upon...no wonder he's not discovered the fun of sharing his H2 with the cynical public....

I think I fall into MAC's group of people being more friendly and inquisitive then rude.
Sure I have had the questions about GAS mileage, and I will rebut with a comment like "yeah gas stations are it's best friend" and try to be pleasant. But in no way have I ever had somebody slamming me about owning one.
Could a person get from point "A" to point "B" alot cheaper! Well of course they could.
In fact over one third of the worlds population will go to bed hungry tonite not in a house but under the stars or if they are lucky a ramshackle shelter made from boxes or discarded wood. Over half of the worlds population that is driving age will never own a vehicle - not even a bike. So today when you see a homeless person don't judge him! Load him into your Hummer H2 buy him a meal, Take him to a place of worship, Say a prayer for him and then go buy him a beer. He will feel better, you will feel better and the world will be a better place to live.
I try to do this once a week right before I get the H2 detailed. (Some of those homeless guys have a funky smell that gets in the leather).
PEACE, LOVE & GODBLESS

If an H2 is like a Tahoe, then why does everyone go out of their way to see it? I have had people chase me down just to ask questions about the H2. Bikers giving thumbs up, middle-aged Vette ladies want to sit in H2, and all the kiddos drag their mommies over to tell them, "Look mommy, a HUMMER!"
My bro-in-law wants my tires on his Z-71, wants to lift it (at least as high as my H2), and oogles over every accessory I add. Now the Z-71, you could say that is a glorified Tahoe, but I don't see anyone chasing him down for question and answer time.

The ray of sunshine starts from inside your heart and mind, the positive energy and force radiate and form an aura around you and the people around you, naturally and consequently the ray of sunshine shines its light upon you and those around you. When faced with adversities, your approach, response and fundamentally how you perceive the incident is starkly different and the consequence is altered. Such is the case not only relate to the dynamics of interpersonal relationships but also encompasses your personal health, happiness and wealth.
Remember that kid in Charlie Brown, there is always a cloud of dust surrounding the kid, that is what it is like with negative energy and force. Another example is to see some people in your life, a boss, your commanding officer, a respected person or a grandmother, there are things or jokes you simply don’t say and things you just don’t do when you are around them. I have always been impressed with these individuals since young and have been observing their acts, walks and words, and tried hard to emulate them. I wanted to walk into a room and my presence and the force is felt by all.
It could be that I simply have been lucky, or whoever intended on insulting words or gestures changed their mind a split second after they look at me, if such, a wise decision indeed.
Another factor is the friends and people you choose to be around with. You are a reflection of your friends, you share the same verbal and body language. While exclusion may not remove negative people and encounters completely, mathematically 80% of such possibilities are eliminated.
