Second trip to dealer 50 miles away for ONStar power problem. Picking up I find white scratches on the 2 week old black paint in seven different places..they washed the vehicle with a MOP that looked like it had swabbed many a deck! Service guy's first comment "well how do I know thats OUR fault I didn't check inspect it when you brought it in..." 45 min and five different products in unmarked containers later...well we could re-paint in some of these areas...OH MY GOD..I finally settled for a signed chit from the service manager for a prof. detail and paint check. less than 12 hours later I try the rear wiper and washer- neither function (they worked on the ride into the dealer in the rain.). What is with these guys? Anyone else experience rear wiper failure? I'm figuring a blown fuse from the ONStar module swap??

Even if I take my 17" Powerbook in for repair they will make a record of the exterior before even working on it. If anything I guess it's a wake up call to many of us never to trust the Service guy; take pics. Even if the service guy inspects the vehicle before repairing it he can change his story later. Wish I knew where they were so I can steer clear of them.

I'm giving them the chance to make it right; then I'll post their dealership for better or worse!

Sorry to hear about the dealer, some are great, some are terrible. I always tell my dealers with all my vehicles to never wash the car.
As for the rear wiper, mu guess (GUESS), is that when they swapped out the module, the tech forgot to connect the rear wiper switch connector to the switch when the center panel was re-installed. Just a guess, but sometimes the easiest is the most probable cause of a problem.

If you want to check, pull the center panel off and see if the connector is connected to the switch.

On the wiper or the washer pump? The TSB I knew about was on the pump only...

The latest: did a search to figure out the center panel removal and what do I find? Chunks taken out of the dash in several places where the center panle was removed! I am now officially pissed. DO NOT bring your vehicle to CITY Cadillac/SAAB/Hummer in Long Island City, NY for service. Based on my current situation(s) with small stuff I would say they would really screw up something major!

I remember training a couple of the guys from there in '02 -- "My lincoln Navigator could do this" This while going through 20 inches of water, mind you. "Why are we here. This is a joke. No one will ever do this."

Cadillac/SAAB/Hummer in Long Island City

Im went there before I bought from ramp in saint james ny.They didnt have a good selection and I think there a cadillac dealer trying to sell hummers. It seems ramp knows what there doing...at least so far...They have a lot of trucks and probobly sevice many more than Cadillac/SAAB/Hummer in Long Island City

Ramp dont sell or service cars and there a good chance if there doing a repair for you they have done it many times before.
