I'm picking up my Boulder Grey Adventure series tonight. I am located in Delaware. I'm about 30 minutes south of Philadelphia. I know about Paragon but want to start out with something less intimidating. I've heard metion of the Jersey Pine Barrens but don't know much about them. Any suggestions for a beginner?

I'd advise checking around for a local 4X4 club and hooking up with them. They're a good way to learn what's in your area and usually organize group trail rides so beginners can learn off-road driving skills and how to avoid trouble. Our local paper has "community organizations" listing once a week thats lists club meetings and contacts. Or try googling "4x4" and your county.

Ah... Ummm... Paragon does have "bunny trails" that people (rather safely) drive stock SUV's on. Some even with side steps still attached.

You H3 would do fine... Next monthly ride is November 5th, there's open enrollment, and you could ride with the "stock" group for the day. This group is extremely safe... You'll have a great time.

Did you see our post about Nov 5th yet?
