Default Couple of H2 questions...

Hi, I'm an H2 owner of a few months now. Katrina took my TJ on 35s so I drove my Viper everyday for a few months, but I didn't want to keep beating it up so I bought a used 05 SUT to DD.

It's a Lux with air suspension and just about every other option except nav---thanks to the info on this forum, I'll be installing nav and a few other A/V goodies this week.

I just pulled the roof rails because they kept me from getting into some parking garages.

My first question is about the front suspension. I crawled under the H2 for the first time today and it looks like the front suspension is resting on its bump stops. Is that normal? I'm not familiar with torsion bar suspensions and the car rides fine and the ride height looks OK, it just seemed weird for it to be resting on the bump stops.

My next question is regarding the Tow Mode. What exactly does it do? Does it prevent the tranny from going into overdrive or does it just change the shift points?

In any case, I like it here because this seems to be the only Hummer forum with regular activity and it's not overrun with the "YO, boI! CheCk oUT thE mAd TyTe 24s oN My WhIP." crowd. That stuff makes me nauseous.
