Default Why I bought an H3

I have seen a couple of items on "why should I buy an H3". Since I'd done a lot of research and test driving before buying mine, I thought I'd explain why.

I use the truck offroad. That means that a one wheel drive vehicle, or the so called 4X4s which are really 2 wheel drive will leave me stranded. The adventure package offers 3 wheel drive which when combined with the traction control gives the best traction available on any vehicle under $50K.

It doesn't look like a overblown station wagon.

It is VERY reasonably priced. I got mine around $31K.

The styling. No one is going to mistake my truck for a rice burner. It even comes with great looking rims stock!

The tire size. I don't have to buy new rims, tires, gears, and recalibrate my speedo to get decent sized tires.

It's not a rover, therefore I don't have to spend $20K a year in repairs, and have a lender car for 6 months out of the year.

My daughter said that the Toyota FJ Cruiser was a "Girlie Truck". It didn't come in red, either.

The various Jeeps were too expensive and got lousy gas mileage.

The GM big SUVs were $40K+ once you optioned them up for off road. The medium SUVs are too meek and mild.

The interior size is more than adequate. Granted, it's not Tahoe sized, but since my previous Tahoe took $16K in upgrades to perform like my H3, and got 9 mpg, I can live with it.

Attention to details. The H3 is built for me. High ground clearance, large chrome grill that deflects weeds and branches, Excellent tow hooks (See my other post), great accessability to the rear area via the huge side-swinging door. External spare WITH correct rim.

It does cost $54K like the H2, it doesn't cost $140K like the H1.

And lastly, it pisses of the tree huggers.

I probably forgot about 500 more reasons to own a H3, but you get the idea.
