Default Advice on Tires and Door Seals

I am in the process of pulling the POS stock tires off my 2006 H2, and will be putting some offroadable rubber on. Previously I have had excellent luck with Pro Comp Xterrains, however they are about $1100.00 for 4 with the 17 inch rims.

I have no problem with the price, if the XTerrains are my best choice, but I thought I'd ask ya'll for your opinion.

Also, I am interested in extra seals for the doors. Believe it or not, My previous ride, a 2006 H3, was totalled after only 6 weeks when I slid into a farm pond. the left side was still shallow, but the right side was in about 30" of water. The water came in like the crazy and shorted everything out. I was surprised it was totalled, but actually I'm relieved because the H2 was what I really wanted in the first place.

Thanks for the advice!

My advice would be to stay out of the ponds!

I hope to not live up to the name my buddies have given this truck.

Poseidon

That is why I am interested in sealing the door better. I want to stay high and dry.

I killed one hummer - I want to keep this one!

I am already looking at the lift kits. I need to keep it under 7' so I can still park in the parking garage at work.

Had toyo mud tires on my H3, loved them. You can't go wrong with them. Looking to put them on my new H2 sut.

They do not desereve that tag. Toyo M/T's are the best option in the aftermarket, if you can find them in your area. oh and welcome to the U-boat commander!

Just remember, a tires tread is designed for forward/reverse motion, not for sideways sliding down rocks or mud. Some will naturally not slide sideways as easily.

Door seals may not help when you are in 30" or more of water, depending on what part of the truck is submerged. I belive the reason the H2 is rated at 4" less than the h3 in fording capability is due to some electroncs in the engine bay mounted at that level??? Someone cofirm. I know the air intake for the engine is much higher that 20" (it over the 35" wheel).

it also does have to do with the door seals. The H3 has triple seals on hte doors. The H2 has 2.
