Default GMC Envoy review

They came and picked up my H3 and left me a Silver GMC Envoy. May as well make use of it and offer a review. From the outside it looks pretty sweet for the Yuppie needing 4wheel drive to get to the office when there is frost on the road.
I like the look, is a real nice silver color, nice lines, just way to car like. The windows seem huge after the H3, I feel like I am in a fish bowl (or maybe what a pacer would have been like if I had ever sat in one). The seats are very comfortable, telescopic steering wheel, a real horn that sounds like a truck. The stereo is laid our better than the H3 but lacks the monsoons sound. The station buttons are not so close together and the volume knob is ridged for easier tuning.. The rear doors are larger than the H3 but the leg room looks about the same. The center rear seat is not made of hard plactic like the H3's. The trim material is horrible looking. Some of the cheapest worst looking plastic I have ever seen on a car/truck. This is the crap that makes rest of the world cringe when they sit in US made cars. The engine moves the Envoy briskly and seems pretty smooth. It seems to have a 5 speed auto in it too.

Over all, no where near the vehicle the H3 is, but completely different design for a different purpose. It would be ok if one if I lived south of the
Mason/Dixon line and needed to drive for a living.

Isn't it wierd to get into another vehicle after driving the H3? I currenlty have a Cadillac CTS as a loaner vehicle and I feel like I'm in a fishbowl too! Also, the windshield feels like it's hitting my nose! I hate it!

My wife has an '06 Envoy. For her purposes it's great. Also It's niceto take her car on trips so mine doesn't get door dinged in the parking lots.

At least you dont have the Outlander minivan I just turned in after my H3 being at the dealer for 6 days. It was embarrasing to drive.

I love south of the Mason/Dixon... Those southern Belles, that southern accent... the slow pace of life, the BBQ

How is it the Envoy has a full set of guages and the H3 not? That is annoying

My mom had 2 envoys (an XL and a regular) and we loved them. She now has a Trailblazer. I looked at both of those before the H3, and settled on that
