Spare parts to carry off-road
We have a lot of new H3 owners in our local club and I am at a loss as to what parts to recommend that they really need to carry. For those of you who off-road a lot, what parts do you carry? There was a H3 that broke a front half shaft this weekend. I know the H2 typically breaks tie rods.

I carry an inner and outer tie rod, and now a half shaft. But really, as long as they are easy on the gas, they should be fine.
Strap them if they can't crawl it. H3's don't really "power" up or over anything without breaking.

Re: Spare parts to carry off-road
I have never broken a tie rod, or a half shaft (knock on wood), but I have been throught 2 ring and pinions, a drivshaft, front carrier, a prop shaft and various other "front" axle parts.

Re: Spare parts to carry off-road
spare front diff
spare rear diff
tie rods
half shafts
an H2 to pull you back to the trailhead.
The only we bring other than a ton of tools, are two complete tie rods and 1 half shaft. We have yet to break these on ours, but it's a matter of time before we or someone else in the group may need one.
It's funny, I always carry tierods in the H2 also (for the H2). I have never broke one, but have handed two over to others in our group over the last three years.
