Question Driving Lights

Question regarding driving lights. Okay I got some new PIAA xtreme white bulbs for the driving lights. Haven't put them in my 06 H2 yet. I did the jumper wire trick to put driving lights on with low and hi beams. But old and new bulbs are both dual filament. I believe only one filament is ever used. Correct? How about both on together? Meltdown? Regards lennyrebel

i know the bulb is a dual filament and its 8w and 27w. i think the drl use the 27w portion of the bulb.

There was an old post on here that mentioned a jumper wire with a resistor, but it is no longer a good link. I am curious about why a resistor was put in with this mod. Does anyone know about it?

The resistor was so that during the day when the drl's are on, the running lights wouldn't be. I used a resistor and it works great!!!!!!
