Default No lights on Gauges

Help me please...everytime I bring my Hummer H3 in for a routine service the dealer decides to break something else. Does anyone know why at night when the headlights are on my instruments are not lit up. The whole left side area by the steering wheel is not lit except for the fog light button. Also all three temp and fan control buttons and the rear wiper button are not lit up. The radio still works, all the fan buttons work but you can't see them at night. I thought it was a fuse but I can't seem to find which one it might be. The dealer was working underneath the dash to fix a vibrating problem maybe they knocked something loose.
PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I think they messed up my whole electrical system. As i was driving to work just now I saw my cars refelection against a building and noticed the daytime marker lights were not on. they are set to be on when driving...I have no idea!!!!

If there was work done on the radio or lighting area. Pull the console dash and check for faulty wireing. Had this problem on my rig after nav install. Came clear after routine check for troubles. No real problem found!

Behind the RF kick panel is the bcm. Check to see if the gray connector is seated all the way. They have very small terminals and sometimes can be tricky.

Sounds like a ground, but I can't make a corelation with the headlamp switch.
The HVAC, Hazard, rear wiper switch, traction control switch and some I/P panel lights all go through a splice and then to a ground under the hood.
The splice is nn the I/P harness, approximately 2 in right of the breakout to the left footwell lamp in the main harness bundle. The ground is in the engine compartment, on left inner front wheel well behind battery.
I would check the ground location just because it is easy.
You can check the gray wire at the BCM as pdsq99f4 suggested, but if the BCM was not tampered with, and it suddenly stopped working, I would not think this was a problem.
However, you mention some aftermarket radio equipment and the installer might have accidently cut this wire that goes from the dimmer switch to the BCM. You told me there was a hum when the lights were turned on.
Where did the installer connect the ground for the new head unit?
You can also check the pinout of the gray wire to the dimmer switch to make sure it is still connected.

Can you supply an exact list of which lights are not working.

Hard to diagnose from a distance, but a good electrical tech should get this one easily.
