Default New to Forum! Getting An Alpha h3 - for sure

Hey everyone.

First of all name is Russell. Ive been looking around at hummer forums and this one just seems to be the best. My family owns and operates a business in Sarasota Florida. We have used hummers over the years as a way to advertise and get our name out there. My dad has owned a yellow 03, h2 (pretty base) a 03 red hummer h1 (god it was sexy, I got to drive it a lot) and now he has a limited pacific blue h2 (very nice and i love the carbon fiber on the dash). Anyways im almost done with school now so finally I will be able to invest more time into the business. Went to dew hummer, the dealer in Tampa where we have baught all three of our hummers from. I test drove and 2007 h3. I loved it, it gave me that big dumb smile that hummers always put on my face, I wasnt sure if i wasnt going to like it but I really did. Right now I drive a 2004 red 350z coupe. I am not expecting a hummer to be a sports car but i was not impressed with the amount of pick up the h3 had, infact i was really dissapointed with it. But i had heard the rumors of the h3 alpha coming and I heard it was going to be more powerful (not that i wouldnt take an h3 right now because it was still pretty damn badass) so we talked to the general manager at Dew about being able to get one, seems like I was one of the first ones to know of the h3 alpha and I am going to be for sure getting one fo the first batch of h3 alphas coming into that dealership. IM SO FREAKING EXCITED!!!! I cant wait to be part of the hummer owners club, lol I love you guys.

lol the wait is killing me, does anyone know what colors the alpha will be avaliable in? will it be a limited number of colors like the v line for cadillac? I have a feeling it might be but then again the h1 alpha had all the same options for colors as the previous years. And what are a good tire to put on the h3? I dont care about bling I want it to be offroad ready right off the lot.

Who cares about bling? I mean if your on road city types, I understand.

Not me, speaking for myself, mud makes me horny and I love to get dirty.

Just give me some out standung tires for the terrain, a good gps, a group of people that love to drive their Hummers as designed to do, and last but not least, good times.

Who needs bling for all the above.

Oh yeah, a few extra tie rods too

Yeah, a good hummer always puts a smile on my face, too.

I'm also gonna wait for the Alpha, my only fear is demand will keep me from getting a good deal.

That's a good one! High demand vehicles go for sticker, just the way it is. That's why Toyota's got incentives on their brandy new truck and Funny Junk.

Good luck with that H3 Alpha, I just bought an 07 Tahoe which I love by the way, I have been away from the forum for a while and I didn't realize the Alpha was really going to be a reality as I didn't see how they could stuff a V8 under the hood and not hurt the approach and departure angles. I think with the V8 many will opt for the V8, but I think they will start at around 50k, but never the less they will sell a ton of these things as the V8 is what the H3 really needs, now it can kick Toyota's ass.

It's not going to be 50k. It will be about $2k more. Not a bad upgrade price (actually quite a bargain) considering the stronger cast iron front end, and far superior engine (tow rating, power and everything that goes with it) I'm still curious as to if the steering components will be upgraded to handle the extra torque. If not, I will be having some machined up or be corresponding with the folks that have made aftermarket components for the H2s.

GIT SOME!

yea when i hear 50k i almost dropped, my dealer told me it should be around 40k for a pretty nice alpha. That is resonable if it were 50k It would price its self right out of the market since the h2 is about that. And if it ends up being that pricey i'll just get a regular h3. But i dont see it being that costly at all.

Hell, you can get a freakin' Land Rover LR3 V8 for less than $50k! (not that I'd want one but you get the idea)

I'm glad that they're smart enough to not get ridiculous on the price, now I have to talk the wife into getting one, she doesn't like the small size and the H2 has poor mileage and when gas is over $3 a gallon that can hurt.
