My Aug Road Trip With 06 H3 (what a POS)
My Aug Road Trip With 06 H3 (what a POS)
So I have done a few short trips in my 06 H3 (4-8 hours) over the last year of owning it with no real problems to speak of. This Aug me the wife and the two kids (ages 2 & 8) did a real trip from WY to New England. 1800 miles each way over 16 days It was a 3 day drive each way. My A/C went out when I got to western mass and I brought it in and they said it was a bad resister and a burnt wiring harness. The parts are back ordered across the country. I called about 4 or 5 different dealerships and no one could get the parts. When I was filling up is was checking all the fluids and I see the power steering was very low? its leaking from the hoses? next, a couple of days later I am getting the red light on the on-start status indicator and some times the phone nor onstar wont work. I am also occasionally getting a stability control failure on the dash maybe 3 out of 7 times when I start the h3. Now to top it off When I go over a bump I here a rattle noise front the back? The rear cargo door is loose. Now to really piss me and the family off I have to drive back to WY 1800 miles with no AC it hit 102? the God damn H3 is just less the one year old with 23,000 on it and I am having this many problems? What a POS, I am now back in WY waiting for the parts to come in to my dealership in Denver (about 110 miles away) so I can get my rig fixed? AHhhhhhh

Bummer about the road trip. I have 40K miles on my 06 H3 with a history of more problems that a typical Toyota for sure, but not that bad so far.

It's okay Steve, that sometimes happens when you use words in groups of more than two or three, on the internet.

My short list of problems so far include: rear washers, front washers, power steering pump, belt tensioner, leather seat cover (turned out to be a hidden snap that was unfastened upon delivery, no big deal).

Got it. Agreed.

Re: My Aug Road Trip With 06 H3 (what a POS)
Sorry to hear about your problems.
I have an 06 with 38kmiles now.
I have owned the rig since 9k miles and I am very pleased with the quality of the truck. I have not experienced hardly any problems, it just runs great and everything works, in super cold weather the tire sensor always goes off, honestly beyond that it is great,( I do baby my cars and treat them very well) I am planning on keeping until I get to about 50k then I will make a decision on getting another 3 or an H2.
