Re: rockstar mod??
I have been thinking about moving the center caps in closer on my rockstars for some time now. I think they would look a lot better if you made them flush with the wheel. Keep me posted if you do anything!

Re: rockstar mod??
yep, cut about 1" or so off. I cannot remember how much I cut, but it was quite a bit. Than you have to get shorter screws also. If you decide to black out the stars, plastic coat them instead of paint. That way when you hit them at the car wash the paint doesn;t come off.

I cut my screws down and re-threaded the ends.

Re: rockstar mod??
I did this mod on mine and a buds truck.
you want to leave 1/4" from touching the rim. You will have to cut the bolts down to, or buy shorter bolts. I also recomend spraying your hubs black when doing this. It will keep the rust from the hub getting on your wheels and you will not see that rust with the center cap on. I think it was cut 1" off, but not sure on that.

Re: rockstar mod??
This is easy to do....I have done it on 3 set of Rockstars. I just got my wife an 06 Tuesday and we installed 22" Rockstars yesterday with 37s, I will be modding the caps today.
Cut the "pegs" down with a dremel...or anything you have access to....tread a nut on the bolts..and then cut off the bolts the same amount...take the nut off this will fix the threads....and your done.

anychance you could take a close up pic after completed?
So putting a nut on the cut bolt will fix the thread?

Also thanks Timgco for the paint advice. I'll be doing that for sure!
