Default Brush guard Lights???

Been looking to instal some lights on the brush gaurd of my 06 H3. Been reading alot and I havent quite decided on what lights to use. I know a bunch of you guys have 'em and thought Id see what you were running and how you liked them. Im thinking two lights in the center of the guard (thought about the factory roof lights but think the glare would drive me nuts especially with the mud dirt and entomology lab project spattered on the windshield) Any suggestions PIAA, KC, HID? Part numbers and installed pics would be great!!!

No you try search first newbee, then you ask questions.(Im sure there is alot of info on lights)

Anyway I dont have lights or a brush gaurd,if I did I would get PIAA's.
I did custom fit PIAA covers on my factory fogs.
I like the look

I only paid $26.00 with shipping on EBay.Cheap mod.(PIAA 540 covers)
You can also check local auto store to order them for about $40.00
They have to be modified a little to fit also 6 months ago I went over the white letters with a silver scripto marker(looks better)

They have been on for 2 years no problems.

As you can see I got the idea from starsnbars he used KC covers

Thumbs up Re: Brush guard Lights???

yes I am a newbie but really I did search and search and search this and other forums. I found no mention about which lights perform the best, easiest to install, or best factory wiring systems. I searched for about 6 hours in two nights and did not find what I was looking for. So I asked. Is that not proper etiquette for this forum? By the way thanks for your comment and that does look sick. I was looking at the either the Piaa 520 SMR's or the 520 ATP's to put on my brush guard. Based on my research they look like really good lights and I was just wondering if someone who had lights and wouldn't mind sharing info on theirs. thanks

Yeh sometimes search doesnt have info needed.(or its hidden in a unrelated post)check roof rack lights ect.

Sometimes also it takes a few days or a week for people to see the new post.
I know alot of people here have off road lights.
I would also make my choice based on price and looks.

I purchased some Delta's for my light bar, and I'm not very pleased with them.

They aren't water tight (they're supposed to be) so they get condensation in them, very annoying.

In the near future, I will be purchasing a few lights. I know exactly what I want, I'm getting "Lightforce" lights. Two 170 Strikers for my brush guard and four 140 Lance's for my roof light bar.

If they're good enough for Rod Hall's "Team Hummer", they're good enough for me. Plus they look cool and they're light (no pun intended).

With under 20 posts your going to need to be a little more specific punk ass!
Next time do your home work and ask a intelligent question. There are hundreds of posts on brush guard light. After you have been around a while you can earn some respect if you are not some poser or ae or just a douche bag. Currently you appear to be some cry baby kid who is too lazy to do his own research...
With all due respect of course

I guess a good place to start with lights:

your intentions for them/ fog/snow/ off road only?
price/ you can go from $60/set to 2K/set

There are a ton of options out there.

PIAA 520's are a good light for the price.

PIAA HID's, HELLA HID's, or Vision X lights are great...but expensive.

I have used PIAA's up until now on all my trucks.

I'm now going to the VISION X HID's and LED light bar on the next "project"....this summer.

Listen goobersmooch, maybe you should try not being such a douche bag. I'm sure you know a lot of people on here, hell you might be friends with them (lots of my freinds can be a$$holes too), but guess who doesn't give a flying rats a$$? I asked a simple question that required a simple reply. I thought there might some people on here with some free time on their hands that would read it let me know what they have used in the past and how it worked out as a few have already done and been quite helpful (like a forum should be). It seems you have time on your hands between spanking it but instead of helping a guy out you'd rather call names and be ghey. Does that make you feel good by the way, because you've done that in numerous threads, maybe that's all you can do because you don't know enough to do anything else, I don't know. Without the others on here that have been helpful its hard to see why anyone would stay here very long with those witty and brilliant comments that you seem to like to post. Now, yes there are lots of post, maybe you should read some of them (or like me tons of them) and you'll see what I'm talking about. None answer my question. Ive done my research and Ive made some decisions, and I was just seeing if anyone on here could help back up my research like any researcher would do before I make a purchase. As for your respect, keep it, its worth absolutely nothing to me anyways. And since you have the bible verse there in the your signature I think you missed Mathew 7:12 goes something like this, "Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them." Why don't you read that verse then stick it your pipe and smoke it before you start ripping on people next time. For the guys that posted the helpful comments (everyone else that is) thank you.

Maybe your mom can buy you some lights at the market and your pop can install them for you junior

EXCELLENT Post!! I may be sealing my fate here, but so be it. I am amazed at how some people feel the need to be the "use the search" police! I was actually pretty interested in watching this thread develop to see some pictures and opinions on brush guard lights. I've searched a fair amount and agree with cdmintmi that a new post might generate some valuable discussions.

Think about this wpage....Occassionally, it is good to start a new thread to get fresh information. There are new products being introduced daily, especially with our Hummers. Plus new members, with fresh experiences, may have something new to add. Just because you remember reading it 6 to 12 months ago doesn't mean that there isn't anything new to be learned.

Give it a freakin' rest on the "USE THE SEARCH BUTTON" retoric!!

cdmintmi: I hope that this thread hasn't been tarnished too bad! Maybe some more "helpful" members will jump on and provide some constructive feedback!

And GOOD LUCK with your search!!! Keep us posted on what you decide!!

cdmintmi asked a decent question, why such hate?? Even as a "noob", I was never responded to the way wpage responded to him. I tell ya what... I guaren..goddam-tee you that wpage wouldnt talk to me face to face like that...he'd be missin some teeth and few hours of conciousness!
It's easy to use the protection of typed page to hide cowardous actions. So how are you earning YOUR respect wpage? You might have received a little status by the number of your posts, but like most idiots, once you opened your pie-hole, you lost it..

It would be fair to say that wpage must have received a lot of ass-whoopins and lost a lot of lunch money going through school.

Next time, try saving your panywaist tribble for those that give a flying ###k! Oh, BTW, I need brush guard lights too...

Well, lets get this started with some pics!!

I have the Warn SDB-160 Dual Beam lights.

http://www.4wheelparts.com/PPT4608T3730.aspx

I like them so far, haven't gotten to use them very much. What I like about them is that they are both fog and driving lights. It comes with a switch to go from fog to driving. They were easy to install, hardest part I had was running the wires through the firewall. Our H3's come with wires already ran for accessory lights, but because of the dual mode I had to use the Warn wiring harness.

A lot of people have Piaas and from what I have read all like them a lot. You really need to decide what you want (fog/driving, how many lights) and go from there. The other thing you will need to order is the mounting brackets for your brushguard.

I got my brackets here

http://www.adv4x4.com/h3brunlimo.html

Another suggestion is to look through the H3 photo forum for off road trips. There are always pics of H3's with different setups, and usually some with brushguard lights.

http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=32660

http://www.elcovaforums.com/forums/s...ad.php?t=28741

Hope this helps, I think it is easy to forget that what is shown in the pics is not always a searchable "word" in the posts.

Thumbs up Re: Brush guard Lights???

Ah man thanks guys, I really like this forum becuase there is tons of info, pics, and people with brains here. We had some pretty bad storms here yesterday so I couldnt check back in and didnt know if I had banished myself or not for telling a guy my feelings there. But I did notice wpage didnt add a link to a previous post that answered my question (i just thought that was interesting myself). But anyways, he can talk trash all he wants on to what this thread is about, why beat a dead horse?
Thanks for the back up and thanks for the pics and post. I just levelled my H3 yesterday (waiting on tires, just cant make myself throw away the still good set thats on there) and feel the brush guard lights and some bigger tires would really set the look off. I build golf courses which requires long hours and lots of fun wheeling but nothing too hardcore(mainly mud recently cleared areas etc.). The only bad part is that the the only time I get to really work on stuff is if rains becuase of the hours. Hopefully someone will post more pics like the one with covers on the stock fogs (I spent about two hours last night trying to find some cheap online). Awsome idea and very creative, kinda makes me feel bad for wanting to steal it, thats the stuff Im talking about.

One more related question. I think the stock fogs work pretty well and Im mainly off wheeling in the woods and on the beach so I think the best bet would be a driving light to get the light farther ou in front of me. I was curious to know how some of you had yours wired up and what do you feel is the best way? On with headlights, on with fog lamps, on with high beams, seperate switch. I kind of like the idea of using the on with fog lamps or high beams so that way I dont even have to put and extra switch on my dash and wouldnt blind anyone while on the highway. What you think?

well thanks again keep it coming
