the first day i brought my H3 home the "doors" indicator was going bananas with the locks locking/unlocking. i guess one of the little switches (swing door) was not lining up or something. now, it briefly happened again but stopped. its THE MOST ANNOYING THING!!!

the dealer is like 50 minutes away and i wonder if there is anyway to dis-engage the door switches to the auto-lock/un-lock and domw light in case this goes on over the week-end.

thoughts?

...its p!ssing me off that the H3 has so many little problems

Tape the switch closed with some duct tape and if that cures the problem, see if it is aligned properly. Or, place a piece of foam tape where the switch hits the door and see if that cures the problem.
Possibly, the dealer has installed the switch incorrectly. If anything, and they have replaced the switch, did they test it afterward, or just say it is fixed?
Sometimes when the replace a part and send it back for warranty, we find out it is not defective, just needed an alignment. When the dealer replaces the good switch with another good switch, it gets aligned.

Go off road and beat the living hell out of that switch. Once you bang the undercarrige a few times it will line up.

Intermittent Chime Sounds, Door Locks Cycle, Dome Lamp Comes On - keywords accelerate adjustment bump closed interior light lock switch warning #PIT3652A - (Jul 29, 2005)
Intermittent Chime Sounds Door Locks Cycle Dome Lamp Comes On
2006 Hummer H3

The following diagnosis might be helpful if the vehicle exhibits the symptom(s) described in this PI.

Condition/Concern:
Intermittently the warning chime may sound, the dome lamp may come on and/or the door locks may cycle. This typically occurs when going over bumps or accelerating. The cause may be the adjustment of the swing gate closing switch.

Recommendation/Instructions:
Using the Tech 2, monitor the BCM input data for the "Passenger Door Ajar Sw.". This input is for all of the passenger doors. It may be necessary to disconnect the swing gate ajar switch to verify it is the source of the concern. If the concern is isolated to the swing gate ajar switch, apply a sticky backed rubber or plastic patch approximately 3 mm thick to the swing gate inner panel where the switch contacts the door.

Please follow this diagnostic or repair process thoroughly and complete each step. If the condition exhibited is resolved without completing every step, the remaining steps do not need to be performed.

well, i fixed the problem the old fashioned way...

i friggin ripped the stupid swing door switch out and that's that. now there is no "doors" warning or chime. the dealership never returned my email by phone so i'm gonna go to CAP or something, buy another cheap switch, and fix this friggin thing myself.

piece of crap switch. i think this is the 2nd one that went in like 2 months.

woo hoo!!! go USA quality control.
