Hood latch luck 4 me! :)

OK - So I probably will get slammed for this...BUT I found some new polished hood latches on eBay for 30 bucks shipped...and said to myself "what the hell!" and bought them.

So I get them in the mail (2 days shipping from Calfornia) today and they are NEW no lie...but also they have the GM stamp on the inside...****...that worked out pretty slick!!

What can i say...I like a little bling here and there!

Hope latches work out most likely will pit by end of winter. I just bought a set from a GM certified Hummer parts provider and they provided all the billet that went on the vistory red SUV and SUT. Those do not look like GM ceritfied as that is what this group sells. There is a slight deference in the big latch part that always tells the difference but, took Me one set and a new set to learn. My factory latch set that came on My rig new was not even GM. The GM stuff had been replaced with aftermarket poor quality. Found this as I wanted the prototype spring designed to fit GM latch and they would not fit. Spring was to long. I called and the nice lady said let us send You GM certified and they will fit. If not send them back and We will figure out what is going on. The springs fit and I got to asking question about latches that came on H2 at purchase so I'm beginning an inguirery into how much of the chrome package was GM and plan to see how much refund I'm owed by dealer. I have parts made phone call and they know i caught them so We have a meeting. This company has come up with a great new design that they built 9 prototypes for GM and they took them for assetment and looks good but I got one of the proto's to show at the shows and the design improvement is light years ahead. Totally enclosed spring with seals so the springs will not rust or pit by keeping water out. But, hope the latches do work out. the first set I just replaced with the new design Were stamped GM as well as came on the rig as part of the upgraded chrome package delivered with H2 new. After winter they were pitted just alittle not bad and could not stay as is My rear door handle and D rings, and Oh My hood latch springs.
Could have lived with latches but got angry when this new GM certified part would not fit the latch that was supposed to be GM.
Also I notice He sells women's clothing for cross dressers. Now not like there is anything wrong with that a Sienfeld and George would say but, a strange mix of products.

But, seriuosly I hope You have better luck. I quit buying the lower priced stuff along time ago for H2. I discovered especial in billet chrome You get what you pay for and it would lot's of times have just cost double to get the better quality. Oh also if You look they all say triple chromed plated and I promise this stuff i bought last summer was not even nickle plated properly first much less had one layer of chrome.
