Knowing how some of you guys traded in faster cars for the kick ass H3, did anybody consider going for a faster vehicle like the Infiniti Fx35? It is just a question because I hear they are pretty quick and have all wheel drive. trust me I am still H3 in-love. Please dont kill me for asking...

Leper in waiting....

I just traded in a 2003 Corvette for a Hummer H3. Never considered getting a faster car, since I have '97 Vette with a ATI P1SC supercharger kit that I seldom drive, but if the need for speed overtakes me, I can always pull it out and go looking for ricers. (Might sell this one after summer.)
However all-wheel drive vehicles have never done a thing for me. All-wheel drive is worthless off road, and on highways, it might help you prevent losing it, but so will full-time 4-wheel drive, especially when coupled with traction and stability control.

power is only a small part of the overall experience of owning a vehicle

i had 333HP

i got used to it

the H3 is slow but still fun and can go more places than a RWD coupe

My H3 could have a top speed of 15 mph and I would still luv my "Hummie". Coffee no longer does it for me in the morning....once that baby starts up I'm ready for a new day

this is what i figured. you can only go so fast and suck up so much fuel doing it. When i drove the h3 on wednesday...i was so shocked by how smooth that it was and the command view it had of the road. I loved it. So did the girlfriend. even the old saleslady in the back seemd to really like it....or maybe that was the thought of a sale going off in her head. thanks for the feedback

I think most people looking at the H3 (myself included) are not so concerned with speed.

220HP @ 4700Lbs Curb weight?
Yeah I'm kind of thinking 0-60 times are a tertiary concern at best.

Snaphook, If you got an FX35, you would run the danger of burning some donuts and rolling into the community swimming pool.

Honestly, in many instances speed and a higher center of gravity can be an issue for many drivers.

I actually got rid of my FX35 to buy an H3. The FX was too much like a sports car to me - rough ride, very stiff, and not good in bad weather at all. It handled great and was very quick, but I'm more of an SUV guy and the FX is certainly not an SUV (no matter what the dealer might try to tell you).

I absolutely love my H3. You don't buy a car like this to blow people off the line or to take turns at 35mph. If you want that, get a sports car. If you want a car that drives great on the highway, is a monster off-road and in the snow, and gets tons of looks no matter where you take it, the H3 is for you.

I guess I just don't understand vehicles like the FX35 (Cayenne, Tourag). They are probably fast and handle well and all that but how much Sport & Utility are in them. They're not meant to be full frame trailer pullers, The ground clearance and tires are not really meant for rough off-roading (nor locking rear). They don't have an especially large cargo or passaenger hold. The high center of gravity makes them handle worse than the luxury sedans. They don't look all that rugged or cool either IMHO, and the Porcshe looks dead-on like a Hyundai. GM had the Typhoon a few years back and it had the cool look to it, without the luxury I guess.

Don't mean to offend but you did ask... hopefully you'll still consider the H3 cause it is just so cool-looking AND off-road-capable AND luxurious AND fast... not but it can pull a good trailer. In normal driving, it CAN get out of its own way, but most cars get out of the H3's, so no worries.
