For anyone considering the Nokya Arctic White H13 and H10 replacement lights, check out this link. It would apprear these lights are weak and actually less effective than the stock lights. Whew, and I was just about to buy them! I raelly want a whiter/brighter light without the HID price. Guess I'll wait until Silverstar makes an H13 and/or H10.

Actually, nothing beats HID's - either a retrofit kit with European code reflectors, or Projector HID's.

The issue at hand is the bulb's glass coloration. It actually absorbs effective light and can reduce the amount of light that's visible to the eye, providing the stock bulb and the new bulb are the same wattage.

I've got a work in progress writeup that has a bunch of charts on the bottom. You'll see that color temps (measured in Kelvin) affect the useable light output. In one of the charts, you'll see that higher temp Kelvin HID lamps (10000 Kelvin) put out up to half of the useable light that standard temp bulbs will (4300 Kelvin).

The same principle goes for standard Halogen bulbs. The less coating on the bulb (or no coating on the bulb), the more light you get that you can use.

My recommendation - get yourself higher wattage H13/9008 bulbs, and modify the harness to use a relay setup. Nokya has a 100/80 watt H13/9008 bulb you can use. This site carries them:

beastmaster I have the higher wattage nokya h-13 bulbs with stock harness and have had no problems .

Cool. I just keep it as a rule of thumb to try and use a harness with relay on any higher wattage application.

automotivelightingusa.com is where I purchased the nokya h-13 stage II bulbs and to get a perfect color match for the h-10 fog lites they recommended using the imtec bulbs also sold by them .

Just remember, the headlamps are protected by a 10amp fuse. If your voltage drops, as it does in the winter with all the accessories on and you apply the brake lights, that 100 watt bulb may draw over 10 amps, and pop goes the fuse.
Chances of this happening are extremely slim, and it is a split second drop of output due to the PCM regulating the generator, but Murphy says it will happen in the most out of the way location known to man. (You would need a low battery too.)
