This cat-back is going for only $325 on either Jegs or SummitRacing. Edelbrock is a trusted name, so why is the price so low???? Anyone have this on their H2?

My problem with their Cat Back for the H2 is this: the factory system has dual pipes to the muffler & out of it, then "Y's" into a single pipe. The Edelbrock system joins the 2 inlets immediately & then has a single inlet/outlet/tailpipe which seems counterproductive to air flow. It's as if they simply designed adatper tubes to fit whatever muffler they had lying around. I know a single pipe system can flow plenty of volume to acheive additional HP, it just doesn't seem the way to go, IMO.

Check very close what you are getting for $325. The old rule of You get what you pay is usually true. I love Eldebrock but, do not see how a good quality catback with headers that will not rust out soon can be sold for $325. My complete system was bought and installed for $1650.00 and they used all stainlees all the way out to make it match the dynatech. It was worth evey penny in MPG and power.
Go with Dynatech stainless steel catback with a true dual exhaust from header out over the axle. Will sound great, performance will be great and a good perf. exhaust shop will get rid of the y pipes and go with 3" from the headers to muffler and reduce to a 2 1/2" out of each flowmaster super 40 series keeping a true dual and over the axle in the stock location and stop it at the factory spot and use mostly only factory hangers to mount it.
3" will not fit over axle with duals.
The 2 1/2" fit well but, snuggly and tuck up high out of the way for rock crawlers.

I agree with "You get what you pay for".
I really was tight about getting a Corsa CatBack in my ECSB Silverado. I hate in-cab resonance. Then I got to ride in a demo unit off the showroom. It is the Touring edition. A tad tamer but flows the same. A straight through design, you can't get better flow. An H2 is a really nice vehicle. Why add the constant resonance to this plush inside cabin.
When you romp it a bit she opens her mouth for a nice hyper throaty sound.

This is the exhaust system that I have decided to use, Touring Edition and all. So you're really happy with it? How does it affect departure angles? It looks like the exhaust tips are angled the same as the rear bumper so it might not affect it much, but I wanted to be sure. Does anyone have any experience with hacking aftermarket exhausts so that they exit about the same location as the factory exhaust?

You better speak with them before you ruin a warranty. Email or call and ask for jbrowning@corsaperf.com. Jim Browning Jr..
They make them there so you may be able to get optional tips or a custom one.
I dyno'ed my Z71 yesterday. I finally got to hear it from the out side. I stood near it and listened to it at different RPM's and at WOT. WoW! She sounds really nice. Some of the folks in the shop next door came to see what was on the dyno. Surprise! Just a Stock Truck.
This was a before the RADIX Supercharger base run. It will be installed 7/9/05 and Dyno'ed again soon after. See My Truck Page For The Before Dyno Chart

I never thought about that. Thanks for the heads up. I'll e-mail them and see what they have to say.
