I'm fast approching the time when I can finally buy an H2. I remember reading about people who are getting 5 to 10,000 off on the 03's. I know this topic has been discussed before but I have had a hard time finding an answer. Who has found the best deal do far on either a 03 or 04? I live in the Seattle area but would be willing to drive across the country if necessary. Thanks all for your help.

I can't help you on current prices, but if you need any help on other stuffs, we are all here to help. Current prices is a complicated ever-changing subject which we went through 500 times and takes a lot of energy, if you come up with more data on your side, such as what you got locally, what you are buying, whats your target, etc.. maybe someone will jump in here.
Have you ever walk into your local Hummer dealer's showroom? If you are a serious buyer, you would be visiting all the Hummer dealers within 3 hours range, beats driving across the country. If you haven't done any of that, you are not a serious buyer yet, but I am sure you have. Have you?

I have. My first experiance was not a good one. I found an 03 I liked; base with heated leather seats and made a reasonable offer just below MSRP. After balking at my offer the sales manager replied "you must not be the kind of person that can afford an H2". Needless to say, this was unappropriate. I walked. I understand that this is a sizable investment and have no problem doing so. I just want to make sure that I am getting the best deal possiable. I didn't get to this position at my age by throwing money away. Ultimatly I would like a 03 with heated seats and a sunroof for 43,000 to 45,000. Is this unreasonable? The other 3 dealerships in my 250 mile radius are all at Invoice to 5,000+ on a 03. As I mentioned, I remember reading stories about some fantastic deals and would like to be one of those fortunate few. Thanks for the welcome MAC.

There's a black H2 Lux with 3 TV screens and some chrome upgrades with a sunroof for $46,900 in the Pennsy area but it has 12K miles on it. I'm not sure you'll get what you want on the east coast for that price, particularly for a new one. But try doing a search using autotrader.com or some other auto search service.
I just got my New '03 H2 for 8k under MSRP if that helps you any. I've seen NEW black, yellow, or greens for 10k under MSRP

Black H2,
You might want to warm up the car for a ride to Jersey. I just purchased a brand new 2003 yellow H2, Lux package with air ride, wrap around brush guard and tail light guards on Oct. 6, 2003. The sticker on my H2 was $54,670.00. I called this dealership in NJ which is about 60 miles from my home and did the whole deal over the phone. After I told him what I wanted, he told me about the vehicle above and offered it to me for $46,900.00. It gets better. I had a 2002 Chevy Avalanche to trade in and I know it was valued at $23,000.00 on Kelly Blue Book. The salesman also confirmed that. When I told him that I had to be under $600.00 per month, he started working the figures and told me that at $23,000.00 for the Avalanche he could not get me to $600.00 per month. He then advised me he would call me back. He called back in 30 minutes and advised me that to get me to $599.00 per month, he would have to give me $28,000.00 for my Avalanche. He then stated he ran it by the boss and he said ok, the H2 was mine. They gave me $5,000.00 more for my Avalanche than it was valued on Kelly Blue Book. So if you add the $5,000.00 extra they gave me for the trade to the almost $8,000.00 off the sticker I got this vehice for around $42,000.00. With the equity in the Avalanche knocked off the price and sales tax added, I borrowed $36,000.00. Thats with nothing down. If you are interested I can email you the name of the dealership, my salesmans name and the phone number to the place.

I bought mine in August, not the deal that spike got, but I went through a broker, who worked it out over the phone, I just showed up, signed papers for 10 minutes then drove it away.
this broker is pretty good and encourges you to find a better deal. if you want her number, email me, it might be worth a couple of phone calls and California is a bit closer than Jersey

The sticker on my red mettalic 03 adventure series was $56,700. After a few months of arguing with the dealer, and phone calls to GM, I was able to take advantage of a discount my company is given for handling GM stocks. They leave participation up to the dealer, but they were able to coax them into giving it to me. so with the 6 grand discount and then the 23 grand they gave me for my range rover, I paid $27,700 for mine.

Just put a deposit on a Base model '04 in NJ. Dealer sticker was $49,999. I got him down to $41,500.
Do I pull the trigger or keep fighting??
Spike,
$36,000 over 5 years comes out to $600/month. Did you get 0% financing?
Email me that dealer info too. I'd like to have it as a backup. sipsfifths@yahoo.com

Just got off the phone witht he dealer. Its being prep'd and I can pick it up tonight!!
Good Luck and keep us informed.. cuz that is one hell of a deal on a '04

Which dealership is it? Some of the bigger dealerships pay under Dealer Invoice, but like I said, that is a damn good deal.
I know the Retail on mine was 48k, the Dealer Invoice was 44k, and the GMS price was 43k, which is what I paid. But 41k is just a crazy price. If you are looking at a Red Base model, see if he'll give the same price on another identical vehicle on the lot.
I don't know, I'm just suspicious of that price I guess.

The dealer is Perrine GMC (not sure of the spelling) in cranbury NJ. They were very specific with the VIN #. The Sales Mgr is telling me that the offer I got was a typo. He honored the deal, but won't budge on Finance rate. I think he gonna hit me for 6%.
Kudus to the dealker for honoring the deal if it is truely a typo
Who cares about the financing.. no Hummer dealer when dealing will give you a good rate. Even tho they charge you 20% interest.. so what.. just get it and get your own financing yourself outside. For $41k.. hell.. pay cash and run!

I called my initial dealer and they told me I could pick up the truck they were installing the dvd system but they didn't have the 3rd headrest screen installed yet. When I told them I would pick up the truck and come back when the screen was in, they said "we don't know if the dvd sytem works yet because the installer had not tested it. He was waiting for the third screen. I told them I wouldn't pick it up unless they were sure and I was sure that everything worked. Man, am I frustrated!
I was going to try to cut a quick substitute deal with Spike's dealership today. Thanks for the info Spike, but that deal you got was one in a million. I called your salesperson today and he said your deal was a one shot on an '03 they had left when you called. They said they could offer you a great deal because the truck didn't have a sunroof and wasn't very loaded. I tried to get a deal on an '04 Lux with air suspension and navigation. I was quoted $52,840 on a sticker of $57,840. They don't seem to want to budge on a reasonably well optioned vehicle. They will knock off more on a base model or something without Lux, nav, and air suspension, but it doesn't seem to be working for me as others customers unaware of this forum are going in and paying sticker on trucks with installed packages like Lux and Adventure. It is particularly hard to strike a deal when a winter storm is expected to hit tonight. Your salesman said the phone is ringing off the hooks. He gave me the line about checking with his manager as I asked for $51,000 for the truck with Lux, nav, and air suspension...but no deal. http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_confused.gif I have no trade and am paying cash so they won't make any money reselling a trade. I am frustrated. I am not satisfied with the delays at the original dealer, but I don't seem to be able to get the deals some of you are reporting. Where are those $7K to $10K below sticker deals? http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

It's all about the color.. What color are you looking for? Black, Green, Yellow are all 7k below sticker here in Cali on 03's. Pewter and white.. they won't budge. 5k under MSRP.

Born again,
Maybe I did get lucky with the timing of my call or maybe they took a lot off because of the color (yellow). One thing I can tell you is it was not a one in a million deal because it wasn't very loaded. Granted I don't have a sun roof, however this vehicle has everything else. Lux package, Air ride, Wrap around front brush guard and rear tailight guards. I also think at the time they were pushing to get the remaining 03's off the lot to make room for the 04's.

Send me the info on your guy at Perrine, please. GWA3445@aol.com Thanks. To add insult to injury, while I was sulking today, I had to drive the NJ turnpike today to get to a work meeting. Near blizzard conditions in north Jersey and it took me four hours for a forty minutes normal ride. When I arrived at my meeting, the only parking space left was next to a majestic looking '04 H2. Looked like it had hardly broken a sweat getting through the snow. I just sat in the car and dreamed of the missed opportunity in the snow... http://www.elcova.com/infopop/emoticons/icon_frown.gif

Detonate,
I am a very serious buyer and interested in using a GMS Discount Coupon. An H2 is going to be a bit of a stretch for me (I promised myself that I wouldn't spend over 35K) but I think with the tax benefits I can justify the purchase. I can manage 44K (as you had mentioned you paid). If you know how I can get a new H2 for around 44K, I would truly appreciate your assistance/advice.

H2chick, that alone says it all. Dealers in Cali don't have to cut many deals, whereas here in TX, the full size truck market is HUGE. Any dealer who won't budge will just be sending his business down the road.
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> I have no trade and am paying cash so they won't make any money reselling a trade. <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
And
<BLOCKQUOTE class="ip-ubbcode-quote"><font size="-1">quote:</font><HR> Where are those $7K to $10K below sticker deals? <HR></BLOCKQUOTE>
Born, those two statements are the reason that you may not have had much luck on the negotiation side. Dealers will come down off of sticker when;
a. There's money to be made by low-balling your trade in
b. There's factory to dealer cash (There isn't any on H2)
c. There's money to be made on the finance end by financing you through the dealership
d. There's money to be made because of weather or other outside factors (ie Buy a convertable in the dead of winter or a 4WD BEFORE it starts snowing)
e. There's money to be SAVED because it's the end of the month and they have to pay tax on the inventory in stock on the 1st.
I understand that you hvae your H2 now, but you may want to work on your shopping technique. Dealers don't just knock money off of the sticker for "fun" or because you're "special" or the old favorite "Now, I like you, so what I'm gonna do is....."
It has nothing to do with customers going in and paying sticker, hence making it a more competative environment for you, it's that you really didn't seem to be giving much for the dealer to work with. Try a bit of sugar in the negotiations, and they will sweeten the pot for the most part.
Yes, this is my truck. No, I will NOT help you move.
