can the sensor for the air ride be tricked?

I have added the 2" torsion key lift to my H2 and it sits higher in the front now and kinda sags in the rear. Is there anything I can do to trick the sensor for the air suspension to ride higher?

Adjust the air ride sensors. They are adjustable up to '05.

where do I adjust the sensors...what tool do I need to do this? instructions needed please.

Can someone post a pic of the sensor location? I've looked under there a couple of times, and can't really figure out where it's at... :(

You can't miss it, it is the only thing connected to the frame in the rear wheel well.

I don't see where they can be adjusted, guess I will take a closer look after some more coffee. I know my friends H2 seems to sit almost an inch higher and she doesn't have air suspension.

As far as I know, and I don't have air to check this, the two bolts holding the arm to the frame mount allow a little adjustment. Sometime mid cycle '05 this was changed and there was no adjustment.

FWIW On the Fabtech lift kit, which is not suitable for air ride H2's with the non adjustable sensor, it uses a bracket with plenty of room for adjustment.

I may well be wrong, but from what I've been told there is adjustment in the air ride on the earlier H2's, although the manual says there is no adjustment. Maybe it is at the other end of the sensor, the part attached to the uppoer control arm.

I will check it out later and see if theres any play to slid the sensor with the bolts loosened up. It always adjusts apon startup, so I think the hieght difference bewteen our rigs was.

B: my tires are about 5k away from being toast and hers are like brand new.

A while back SteveR told me that he and some others put some kind of "spacer" to fool the sensor in thinking it's lower than it is. I don't have air ride, so can't offer more than that :o

from looking at it you would have to make the rod longer to get it to respond in making it higher. it would effectively push the arm up making it think the vehicle was low

as for shimming the switch you could add washers to the switch on the far side to rotate the body of the switch towards the arm of the switch. I would think one or two small washers could add an inch or two to the ride height

You can ask your dealer to raise the rear via computer programmer. Mine was done and raised the rear about 1 in. Not all dealers will do this but I know first hand it can be done.

So with the torsion bars cranked up and the rear raised....you should fit 37's pretty well... :)

The technician will use the programmer to raise the ride height in the rear and calibrate the sensors and computer for the proper ride height. Then all four corners of the car will be calibrated correctly. I believe its called z height adjustment. You can fool it, but you risk not having the car level, unless you mess with it long enough. Messing with the height can effect the alignment in the front. Trust me, I've learned this over the past few months.

Another problem You will have with fooling the sensorm and Phil is correct it is adjustable at the sensor shown but, Your ride will get hard as the bag has kes flost to it as You extend it. So more heigth means harsher ride if not done by dealer. When they do it with computer as H2 Rocks said they make all level out setting the Z heigth. They will readjust Your torsion bars to be set to math the air ride adjustment. Helps maitain more of the better ride but, still hardens it up.

Man I hear so many people say their dealer will not adjust this. Some of these dealers must be horrible.

My dealer from the very beginging would anything i asked. The service has been that way from get go.
