Doug,

A coating is like the fake wood they put on the Denali and Escalade dashs. It wraps the plastic and will not peel off like paint will. You can get a wood finish or a painted look from the same prossess. Its hard to make paint stick to plastic, they have plastic prep cleaners to help but in the end if anything nicks it or you bends the plastic it will peel off. You can get paint to look very good but its a matter of time till it starts to come off. BIG-C
