Thanks for posting the specs, Paragon. However, this does not help us with the question, why it says 74.7 in for "width" on the official HUMMER.COM website.

If we assume that the info on hummer.com is WRONG and your info is correct, then the H3 would be 4 inches WIDER than the H2. Again... go to HUMMER.com, select H3 (from the top navigation bar) and then select "Specs and Features" from the drop-down-menu. On that page, scroll down a little bit and you can read: "Width: 74.7 in. (excluding mirrors)".

I did this photoshop pic, which actually shows that A) 85.5 in. might indeed be the correct width and B) that the mirrors don't make much of a difference to the width.

Of course there is a little "viewpoint" issue here, since the roof is further away from the camera, than the front grille. Still... it might fit a width of 85.5 in.
