I do not know anyonepersonally that lives out there, but I do know some of you H2 owners do. Have any of you had to evacuate? How far are you from the fires?

I think I speak for all of us here when I say you are in our thoughts.

As you can see from the satellite photo, the air quality sucks even if your not near the fires.

I fly paragliders at the location with the red star. I occasionally work somewhere under all that smoke. My house is OK but I have friends that have been evacuated.

Yesterday was probably the worst air quality at least where I was (San Fernando Valley). It looked like a thunderstorm was coming through (much like my midwest days). The air was gagging. My daughters cross country meet stopped in the middle because all of the girls were coughing and every morning I have a thin layer of ash on my truck (more when the Burbank fire was in play). You can no longer see the mountains at all and the sun looks like something out of a terminator movie. The smoke somehow creates a filter and you can actually see sunspots, pretty wild. We need rain bad but know that when it rains it will probably pour and then we will have serious mudslides and houses falling into the canyons.

It's nature (for the most part) so what are you going to do?

I guess I should have mentioned it, but I didn't want to sound like I was ringing my clubs bell.

The entire Southern California Hummer Owner Group has been "mobilized" to help authorities and other groups deal with the fires and helping evacauate folks. Most of the group has stepped-forward to volunteer to help in any way possible.

It's not like they need us to fight the fire or use our Hummers for something crazy....but we're on standby and there should they need us. A few of our guys are already helping with some of the fires. 3 of our members are fire-fighters as well.

It's nasty....and some of our trails are no doubt burning up in those hills. That's where we ran the 2N17X up to Arrowhead!

We had quite a few people here at work had to evacuate, and at least couple lost their home in the canyons above Claremont.

Brian....you are onto something!!!!!

I like the first one, but a few changes:

1) Instead of "SoCal", go ahead and expand it out like you did in the 2nd one and have it read Southern California

2) Put a small amount of white between the "red cross" and the "H" so that it's not connected to it...but jjjjjjust underneath it!

These such stickers could stave off vandal attacks, tickets from cops and get us some respect!

I see you didn't include your first version, which was "SoCal HUMMERS emergency response team, show us your t ts!"

How about:

Emergency Response and Mountain Rescue Team

Then:

We add a sticker for each event we attend meaning:

SoCal Fires 2003 (something like that)

Tag Lines:

Ain't No Mountain High Enough (is that a song )
Over the River and Thru the Woods...(Sounds familiar, maybe not this one)
We come in You come Out
The Unstoppables (I kind of like this one)

The fires have been something nasty. My mothers house is about a mile from where the fire was it passed right on bye the hill side. No evac needed. Those are some cool ideas for stickers. Good Job.
