Rattle in the B pillar
Does anyone else have a rattle in their B pillar (between the driver's door adn driver's door) Mine is going to the shop for a laundry list of stuff but I wanted to find the rattle so they can loook for it too. It took my son and I about an hour to figure out exactly where the rattle was coming from. I thought it was in the drivers dooor, he thought in the rear door. after driving for about 40 minutes we isolated it in the B pillar, But I can not imagine what is in there to rattle

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
The only thing I know that is in there is part of the safety belt system. They had to open mine (on passenger side) because they had accidently tucked my belt (the long part that you pull over you) into the housing. Weird, I know. Anyways, I didn't see anything in there exceplt stuff that has to do with the seat belt. Let us know what you find out incase it happens to one of us. I just had my A pillar moldings replaced this morning ... the vinyl was peeling.

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
it could be the seat belt shoulder hight adjustment , something to do with that or in the track it slides up and down on . nav got the button stuck on the pass. side once and i had to pop button off and snap back on

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
That buzz is driving me crazy!
Thankfully the Monsoon drowns it out!
I have no idea what is causing it. Pressing on the seat belt height adjustment while driving doesn't seem to do anything. I'll have it in for a service soon enough. Good luck on finding the culprit. Please post whatever it is.

Buzz? Pull on the seat belt while driving. Does that do anything?

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
I think I tried that already with no success. I'll re-attempt at lunch today.

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
Weather was too good this afternoon to pass up driving home with the windows down and the music blasting. I'll listen for the buzz again in the AM.

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
The guy who came and picked up my H3 called me when he got to the dealership and said he definately heard the rattle and since I pointed it out it drove him nuts. The location is even with my left ear so it sounds like it is right in your ear

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
On the roof just above the b pillar on each side are romovable plastic covers associated with the roof rail system. At speed and with a cross wind I had that rattle, I removed those suckers and stashed 'em in the glove box = no more mystery rattle. Hope that helps you. good luck

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
Just a thought, we had problems one time with the belt vibrating inside the B-pillar molding, causing a buzzing sound. Not the H3, but another vehicle.

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
Hal,
Been having the same rattle, and it has been driving me f...ing nuts. I pulled the plastic inserts you said to, and no more rattle. Thanks, I feel like I am driving a different truck!!! Thanks again!

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
Just got my H3 back from the dealer today- they said the vibration noise I was hearing (which I originally thought was coming from the dash area) was from the roof rail. Apparently it wasn't clipped properly and it was making the noise. I was also told that it was about to fly off however I don't see how that is possible when it didn't even look loose. But then again what do I know....

Re: Rattle in the B pillar
While at the dealer yesterday they took the panel off, could not find anything there lose and put it back together. The rattle is gone. Being how half azzed they did the service I doubt they even did what they said.
