Who is the "dominant species" here? Not that I don't like the enviroment and the wilderness, but hell there are plenty of places (old post industrial revolution) areas in the US where wooded areas could be reinstituted. I say to hell with those in opposition and build a few more refineries.....before we all wind up on welfare due to outrageous oil prices.
