I traded a Dodge 3/4 ton 4X4 w. Cummins turbo-diesel for my H3... and my wife's Volksdragon TDI has the old 1.9 litre turbo-diesel with a 5 speed.
Better fuel economy... less emissions... huge torque... win, win, win!

Why not harness the atom and use that power to be ahead of the curve of petrochemical depletion. But seriously with technology advancing at the rate it is who knows what engine options will be there when you are ready to trade/upgrade your H3...
