The rattle the dealership says doesn't exist has returned. I've narrowed it down to inside the rear hatch door. Any trick to getting it off so I can look inside to see what is loose? In the old days door panels and such were held in place by clips that could be carefully pried with a screwdriver but it's been many years since I've actually been behind a door panel and I don't want to break anything if I don't have to. There are two black plugs (or at least they look like plugs) on either side of the top of the hatch. Are they removable and reusable? I seem to recall that some of those things are one way and once they're in and come out they're trash and have to be replaced. Not that they could cost that much. Thanks for any help you can provide.

sbmike,
You might want to check this thread out. It may be what's causing the noise.

Also you may want to check the jack mount inside of the vehicle. Mine was loose and making a rattle.

Spike: Thanks for the info. I'll check it out, although I get the rattling at low speed when I go over bumps. It also does not happen all the time which leads me to believe that when I open and close the hatch something inside settles so that the rattling occurs. I'll check out the info on the thread in any event. AH: I'm fairly certain it's not the jack mount since at the moment none of that stuff is actually in the truck (I needed the space to haul something). Thanks for the input in any event.

Everything in the H2 snaps together. It's like a puzzle. I saw this when my xm was installed some time ago. They just popped out piece by piece but there is an order to it.

Good luck.

It's really easy. All you need is a 7mm & 10mm wratchet. Use the 10mm to take off the two black tie downs on the rear hatch. Use the 7mm to take off the bolt under the pull down strap. Pop off the two black plastic push pins. Then starting from the top of the rear window, just pull the panel down towards you. It does take a little bit of force to get it off. Just work your way around to the bottom of the panel. On the very bottom you need to pull the panel away from the truck as you pull down. It is very easy to do once you start.
