Curious of what current resale and/or trade-in values look like for H2's given the recent glut, rebates, deals, and 2004's on the market.

I'm starting to toy with idea of trading in my H2 for an H1. (It's a toy for me, lot's of off-roading). Prices on lightly used H1's are really skidding lower.

Just curious in anyone has recent experience. Don't want to go to the local dealer. Might do something stupid.

Joe,

I recently looked at the Range Rover and the MBZ AMG Gwagon, and interestingly enough -- both dealers said that I would get around $38,000.00 on a trade for my H2 with 8,000 miles .... however, I will keep my H2. In my opinion it is a better vehicle for me than the other two that I looked at ... please let us know if you trade yours and what you get.

Thanx,

Michael

Thanks for the info. Given I was one of the many who bought the H2 when it was the hot ticket there is no way I would ever sell for $38K. Looks like trucks on ebay are getting mid to in some cases high 40's. Mine only has 3K miles on it. OK, those have been a bit harder than normal miles.

I think if I was really serious I would try and move my truck on ebay and then buy an H1 in a straight deal where I could negotiate price and not get slammed with all the hiding numbers in trades, blah, blah, blah.

yeah! Avatar and Signature finally worked. Something weird about this forum and Safari on the Mac. Needed to use Explorer to set it up. But, alas this is another story...

Joe,
Just wait until you try to post a pic using Safari and a Mac. Doesn't work. At least not for me. You'll need to use Explorer.

My dealership has several H1's at discount. These are 2000 and 2001 models, but at 49K can't beat it. Don't know what they are giving for used H2's though.

Raster,

Where do you see H1' for 49K? I know they are 2 years old but who cares, they don't change that much each year.

DRTYFN, I use safari and a mac, and I can post pics But I can't seem to use the my space section. Like reading private topics, changing my setting etc... Oh well. Safari is really cool though.

Sounds about right. Seems like 00 and 01 H1's with low miles, under 20K are going for no more than mid 50's at best. 69K is probably an 02 demo model. Really makes me wonder who buys a new 03 for 100K?

Raster,

Maybe I'm out of it but that's incredible. h1's never struck me as a vehicle where the model year would matter all that much, I mean for cryin' out loud it's a Hummer. They all look the same regardless of the year. I need to call my dealer here in Sherman Oaks and see what they are doing. I'll post what I find.

Buckeye,

I don't know if they were used, demos, or what would bring the price down that much. I can take pics next week if you like.

Yes, trade-in last week at $45,000.00.

I had 17K on a Lux Package with Gobi Rack.

Loved the truck, but already have a fullsize truck and we're having to move from the country with tons of trails, snow, and no traffic to the city with few trails, no snow, and horrible traffic.

Well, off to the dealer today to talk trade on an H1.

The dealer seemed VERY VERY interested in working a deal. Even admitted over the phone they don't move H1's and would do just about anything to do so.

Well for what's it worth I did trade my H2 today on an H1. The dealer offered $46,000. They pretty much explained that the new H2's currently have a $3k rebate/incentive, along with discounts. Suprisingly when I asked they said they send even H2 trades to auction. No reason to try and sell used since the price new is so close. Good news for me at least was I saved an extra 6% on tax and most importantly since they where sending it to auction they let me keep the first aid and tool kits.

That's very interesting. On Friday, the dealer in Nashville told me that there was a $1000 incentive on new '03 H2's, not 3000. I wound up buying a very equipped, used '03, with 5k, for 49,000, including a whole lot of add-ons, such as wheels, tire carrier, sunroof, and other items I would have bought anyway......but if I 'd been offered 3,000 in incentives, I might have done otherwise!!!

Positive they said $3K, but what was not clear was whether that was customer facing $ or if they where talking dealer $ that they where passing along. Not sure but they certainly said $3K.

They only had a couple of 03's left and said 04's where due in next week.

Enjoy your new ride. You will love the H2, great truck, and the tire carrier is a must so getting that out the door is awesome.
