Default Creak/knock @ slow speed....ideas?

At slow speed as I brake I get a creak or knock sound. Same thing when I pull away slowly. The Dealer said it was the frame to body mounts and it needed shims. They did that but the sound is still there. Any ideas?

It is a Bull**it problem with teh H2. They did the shims on mine and it is still an issue. I don't know why they can't fix it... just make a better body mount and replace?!!? For a 60,000.00 car you would think they would care a little more.

My dealer just told me to buy a new h2?!!!??!? Uh.... why so the same thing can happen as soon as the part gets broken in?

Someone recommended a polyurethane spray from the car parts store... this helps a little bit from time to time. I also had my car dynamatted by a local stereo shop, and that helped too!

I've read the threads about this being a body mount issue but I wonder if it couldn't be related to the torsion bar suspension in some cases?

After spending part of last weekend working on the H2, I can see how the torsion mount point could cause noise through the body mount, especially in cold weather.

I wouldn't blame the body mount though.

I have had some growning from the suspension while braking and taking off. I always thought it was the slip yoke on the rear drive shaft. they were replacing them for a binding and vibration on take off.

I appreciate the input Guys. I will kick it back to the Dealer and ask them to do a rethink. I also did not think it could be body mounts. I was worried it was a brake carrier loose or something. I will have them check the Tie Rods and linkages to see if they find something. Thanks again.
