Default fog lights and daylight running lights

I have an 06 H2. I have installed the brush guard and put PIAAS on the front end. However, I need more light for when driving on the freeway at night. 2 questions:
1) Has anyone figured out a way to mount additional fog/driving lights to the front end of the H2 without them getting hit when the hood is opened?

2) how do you modify the current DRL lights so they can act as DRL during the day and stay on at night (when the headlights are turned on? I am considering installing PIAA 510s driving lights into the DRL spots, but if i can't figure out how to keep them on at night, what's the point?

On previous H2's I mounted PIAA 004XT's in the lower grille. I just took a dremel tool and cut out the smaller holes.

Search: House of Hummers

DRL MOD: type that is the search engine and you'll find a few threads on this. Make sure you add the diode or you will replace marker light bulbs oftern...at least I had to.

If you can;t find the threads, let me know.

...hope that helps some.

I did a search on House of Hummers and didn't find anything. Please help. I would like to see a picture of the PIAAs mounted in the grill. How did you mount them so they didn't hit the bumper or anything else when the hood was raised/lowered?

timgco - you SUT is SAH-WEET!!!!!

I love what you did with the PIAAS. So, the (4) fog/driving lamps, they are all PIAA 004XT? did you have any problems with clearance with the hood open or closed? How did you mount them (brackets, drilled right into the bumper, etc). if it isn't too much trouble, would you mind sending a pic with the hood open so i can check out the clearance of the lights. That mod is so much better looking than the DRLs. Thanks! for some reason, I couldn't find the house of hummers thread until you posted it, so thank you!

you have to dremel out the small holes in that lower grille, but it clears with room to spare.

You'll also have to use a 2 x 2 aluminum plate that will bolt through the plastic bumper. The lights will bounce if you don;t bolt it properly. I don;t have any other pics.

I'll be using an LED lightbar on the next truck. There is pleanty of room in there, you just have to keep it towards the back of the plastic as far as you can. piaa 2100, 1500, 004xt's will all fit.
