Default Auto Climate Control

My auto climate control in hot weather will switch automatically to the recirculation mode and then back to normal mode...only does it if weather is 85 degrees or hotter outside...no problem with heat...my uncle has a escalade with same issue...any help would be appreciated

I have never noticed that. Also keep in mind when you set your memory it saves whatever HVAC settings you have at the time.

Its normal. In auto mode it will control mode doors, recirc door and the blend doors to keep cabin at the temp setting you have selected

Is it normal for the air not to be cool? The dealer I purchased it from (GMC) stated it needed and actuator. What do you think?

Depends on the in cab temperature, if its hot in the cab the air from the vents should be cool, as it cools down in the cab the air delivery temp will adjust to keep the cab at the temp you have chose to set it at. Are any codes set in the hvac module?

Not sure there are no codes such as a check engine light. The interesting thing is that it never reaches desired temp. Example if it is set to 70 and the cabin reaches 70 I understand the fans would automatically decrease to maintain. However we are never reaching correct temperature in this 95 plus degree weather.

Could be a number of things going on. Could be the temp door actuators, control head, ambient air temp sensor. Try putting it in manual mode and adjust it to full cold with ac on and see what happens. If it still does not blow cold it could even be a low ac system charge. Tough to diagnose without being there

It does the same thing in manual mode or auto mode. It is crazy hot in the cab. The system has been charged and it was not low on freon
