Default Re: transfer case from yukon

I guess you missed the " " on the other post. So here's more ideas on how to save yourself from blowin your wad at the pump:

1) supercharge your rig. Costly on the engine, but saves quite a bit at the pump. I know a couple of people that aren't having to use the high octane for their SC'd rigs.

2) Don't use the truck as your daily driver. Think more like 4cyl ponitiac or Prius as your alternate.

3) Sell your truck because it cost toooooooo much at the pump.

4a) Find yourself a sugar momma to pay for your gas.
4b) or you could pimp out your other half on the weekend for extra cash.

5) Start a charity fund to line your pockets with gold. Call it the
" HELP ME, I'm TOO CHEAP TO SPEND MONEY ON GAS, EVEN THOUGH I OWN A 60K truck fund."

6) Scare the neighbor kids and make them pull your truck around with rope from your towhooks.

7) Buy exhaust/ air intake/ power programmer and don't let your rpm's go over 3,000 rpm.... ever!

8) put more air in your tires. Creates less rollng resistance. Check your door pocket and sidewalls of your tires for guidance on how high your preassure can be set.

9) Duramax/ Allison swap allows for selectable transfer case. But we already know it cost waaaaaaaaay to much....esp. if your already concerned about blowin your wad of cash at the pump.

10) stop driving around with your brakes/ parking brake on all the time.

On a less Sarcastic/ joking around note, (see prvious post with in it) if you are running around on stock tires that are inflated to the correct specs, and are only getting 9mpg, there is something wrong with your truck.

Out of 4 H2's that I have owned, I have never turned 9mpg , and that is at altitudes in Denver to Vail. I have run heavier than stock rims, 37" tires, a bunch of gear, winch, and full roofrack with gear, and still never 9mpg. Altitude, having your foot in it all the time going up into the mountains and wheelin in 4lo...never 9mpg.

I get an avg. of 13.5 mpg with my foot into the gas pretty hard, speeds avg on the highway around 80ish. And pleanty of stop/go traffic.

What year H2 are we talking about?
At altitude or sea level?
stock tires or larger?
lifted truck or stock height?
Extra weight in rig? Roof rack?
towing a trailer all the time?

Be more specific about your rig. I think you'll get more feedback on possibles issues causing your bad mpg.

IMO, I think there are other things causing your mpg to be so poor.

BTW- I would go with #4a or #7. I did #7 and got another 2mpg while running 37's on my SUT that was sold. It was also more fun to drive with the more crisp throttle response and better shifting points than the stock programming.
