i agree that you need to replace your battery, but you can save the old one for a future emergency use, wouldn't take it in on the $10 core. I would replace with a oem battery if the other lasted 5 years. Optima is a very good brand, but do you need it? I would replace with an oem and hope to get another 5 years.

Cheaper to keep A set of booster cables on board. A dead battery will not kill your truck unless you shut it down. Usually Someone will be around to boost ya and off to the parts store ya go. Keep A 8mm wrench, 13mm socket, 4" extension and 3/8" drive ratchet and you have all the tools once you get to the parts store. I had A customer ask me to change his battery out at 6 yrs and he didn't want the old one, it lasted another 4 in my jeep. On the other hand I have seen them fail after less than A year.

And it still has NO side post conectors. if you want to modify your cables than it may work if the posts on top clear your hood . or just slide in a good 7 year group 79 and call it a day.
