The Terror problem is certainly worldwide. Unfortunately the "world" leaves it up to the stupid Americans as they like to call us to bankrupt our country working against this crap.
A shame that folks like Robby Gordon and others plans and dreams for this project go up in smoke over some ass wipes

They promise an amazing course, a 9000 km loop including 6000 of specials between Buenos Aires, Valparaiso and Buenos Aires. The Dakar rally, the legendary event of the off-road rally discipline, will for the first time go to South America in 2009.

FWIW, Robby Gordon lost $4.5 million from the cancellation last year's DAKAR. That's probably what drove his switch to Dodge for this year's NASCAR season. He's also been penalized by NASCAR, under appeal, trying to land a full-time sponsor, and will struggle to stay in the top 35 in points. It's starting out tough for him.

Gordon might be innocent, but shouldn't be surprised

Maybe the African nations will start paying attention to the terrorist problem their and take matters into their own hands now. It's gotta hurt to lose a competition of that size.
