On a weekly basis I tow a car trailer loaded with a car (and an occasional SUV) behind my H3 about 45 miles. I do have the auto tranny and the trailer weighs 1300 lbs. alone and has 2 axles, both with electric brakes. It does fine, you just need to get a decent run going before any large hills.
It does great with a car on the trailer; loaded with an SUV (such as an Explorer) is pushing it...but I have done it several times.
