Re: 16.5" H1 HMMWV wheels installed
These came mounted & balanced w/ runflats already installed in them. The bead locks are part of the 2 piece wheel. I haven't tried taking them off yet due to I'm afraid of losing air, plus I've only had these on a week now & been snowing or raining since then.
I'm actually at a tire shop as we speak having them check out the balance on one of my rear tires. Slight vibrations above 60mph.
My plans are to paint the wheels with Line-X to match my roof rack, ladder & front bumper.

I saw them online, they are absolutely awesome. How much did you pay for the new set with tires shipped?
Also I'm worried about the o-ring they mention going bad. I'm assuming its between both halves of the rim to hold the air??

I paid $975 for 5 wheels & tires all 100% new. Already mounted & balanced w/ run flats installed. Freight shipping from WI to St. Louis was $120 on 1 pallet (dock delivery).
I've only had these on for a week now so I haven't had a chance to find out more about them. I know the old style 8 & 12 bolt wheels had o-ring issues but haven't heard anything about the 24 bolt.
I recommend them!

Re: 16.5" H1 HMMWV wheels installed
Do you have a link to where you bought them from?
I did some research earlier today and it looked like the o-ring problem was from tire shops incorrectly mounting tires, so it may be something to watch out for when you get to your next set.

Re: 16.5" H1 HMMWV wheels installed
I did read the 24 bolt offset wheels didn't have as many issues with the o-rings.
Hmm interesting indeed. $1k for wheels (awesome ones at that) is not bad at all. I think my BFG's are the stockers because they're starting to get cracked everywhere on the tread so it may be time for new ones soon.

Re: 16.5" H1 HMMWV wheels installed
The company is Feltz Auto & Tire. They have a regular tire shop, but also a huge supply of these HMMWV wheels & tires. They said they have a contract with the Gov't regarding purchasing surplus.
They don't have a website but do list stuff occasionally on Ebay. It's a rather small shop.
Dustin is the guy I used. His cell # is (715) 305-3853 and they also accept Paypal. After I paid, my shipment was ready the next day to ship out. He even sent me pics of the wheels on the pallet per my request.

Re: 16.5" H1 HMMWV wheels installed
Here's my thinking, I've been looking around and can't find much in regards to other tires in the same size. That being said it seems the only decently priced tire for these rims would be the military surplus stuff. However what happens when these start to dwindle??
Any thoughts on finding tires in the long term?

There's always Ebay. Or if you hate money, tirerack.com has them for $675 per tire for the same thing.
I have a feeling there will always be someone selling these Goodyear MT/R tires in atleast a 95% or better tread for quite some time.
