Changing steering stab shock.

How and the hell do you remove the end with just a nut on it. First removed the bolt and nut from the one end. The removed the nut on the other end and the damn thing will not budge, move, creek...zippo!!!! I really didn't want to have to take it to my mechanic for something that seemed so simple but WTF?

Sounds Like a job for a puller --any good bearing puller should work. Or tie a chain around it tie it to a power pole and reverse truck--kidding sort of. Regards The Rebel

Beat on it from all directions with a BFH. There is nothing else holding it on there. It WILL come out.

You can get a suspension fork from Autozone by leaving a deposit and costs nothing. Use it, and it will come off amazingly easy compared to any other method you try with tools at home. Take it from me, after I spent 2 hours prying and beating on it, only to get the fork and it pop right off!

Thanks for the info tomp, I remembered reading about the fork and I couldn't find the thread to verify.

I love redneck engineering. They make a nice chopper too.
