Later in 2003 Dongfeng Motor Corporation (DFM) also revealed its EQ2050, which is also based on HMWWV but with a redesigned front-look. Unlike the SAC SQF2040, which relies on locally made components, the DFM EQ2050 utilises some imported items. Although this would increase the unit costs compared that of the SQF2040, these parts are considered to improve performance.
